The
Wrights were fascinated with things of the air, but not
to the exclusion of all else. Their bicycle company
in Dayton, from which they derived their capital to
invest in making aircraft parts, occupied much of their
waking hours. The one on left is their cycle shop which
was on 3rd street, one of six storefronts they rented. On
the right is their childhood home which now stands in
Greenfield Village in Dearborn, Michigan. And
although the house is next door to the cycle shop in the
Village today, it was about four blocks away at the time
it stood in Dayton, Ohio.

The house
was very comfortable and livable. It was a happy house,
for the most part. A large family, busy with the
activities of daily life lived there.
