Here's the shacks out at Kitty Hawk, and the Wright Flyer resting beside it. The brothers are about to make history, but they haven't made it yet. Did you know that Orville didn't win the toss to fly first? Wilbur did. And on the 14th of December Wilbur took a flight lasting only a few seconds, damaging the aircraft slightly. So, it was only natural that Orville get a turn. On the 17th, he tried it. His lasted twelve seconds; the world was never the same again.
