Combat Aircraft
The aircraft on this page are all U.S.
aircraft. The Korean War, The Vietnam War, and others produced
their own heroic airsteeds. Some are below:

The Korean War produced several very capable
fighters, two of which are shown here, above. The Lockheed
P-80, which became the F-80, was the first operational jet
fighter used by the USAF, on the left. On the right, the
North American F-86, The Sabre is best known for
its Korean War role where it was pitted against the
Soviet Mig-15 and won air superiority.

The McDonnell Douglas F-4 Phantom II, proving
highly adaptable, became a major part of the air wings of the
U.S. Navy, U.S. Marines, and U.S. Air Force, and used
extensively by all three services during the Vietnam
War.
This site will pass over the obvious F-14,
F-15, F-16 and F-18 - not because they aren't great fighters,
on the contrary. But we have just so much space. Here are some
cutting edge technology fighters:

Two excellent examples of futuristic thinking.
Left is Lockheed Martin F-22, and on right, another Lockheed
product, the F-35. Outstanding aircraft to keep the U.S. on top
in the air superiority race.
