At the trophy presentation, Russell G. Dougherty, former Commander in Chief of Strategic Air Command, presented the trophy to the Wing Commander, Colonel Walter E. Poore, standing second from right. Beavers is fifth from right, looking straight ahead. He said he was really nervous standing in front of the Command's best crews.

After the symposium, the Bomb Wing welcomed the crew home with a big party, and they celebrated. In a more casual atmosphere, the Wing Commander shows off the shiny steel his crew brought home, below.

Colonel Poore is standing right behind the big trophy, and Beavers is third from left. A very happy and exciting night for everyone.
